SPECIAL EDUCATION (STUDENTS WITH IEPS):
SLT SUB-COMMITTEE

This committee shall engage with and improve the structures that are currently in place at Spruce Street School PS/IS 397 for children, families and teachers (PTA) requiring support that extends beyond the abilities of general education, that have an educational need, emotionally, mentally or physically, and anyone within the SSS community in need of additional support.

One goal is to explore best practices for special education under the new special education reform and to use this information to inform our recommendations to Spruce. Another goal is to examine the DOE guidelines to insure we are following what is prescribed in order to also contribute to our recommendations.  Other goals will most certainly arise during this process and will be addressed accordingly.  The meeting dates and times  can be found on our calendar.
